Normal Map Workflow - 3dsMax

 I am including the Max files that I used in this tutorial so that you can follow along with me and practice yoru skills step by step.Click the download link above. This tutorial is using 3dsmax to render normal maps. I have prefprmed many trials over the years using Maya, xNormal, Zbrush, etc, and 3dsmax's Cage editor has been my prefered choice of rendering all types of texture maps. I created this tutorial in 2007. Not much has changed since then regarding rendering your normals, but understanding normal maps is complex and this tutorial is just for begginers.
